Terrace Awning with Retractable Shelter for The March Hare Pub & Brasserie, Guildford
The March Hare is a popular gastropub in Guildford. As a result of a central location, its external space is limited to a small, irregular shaped terrace.
The area is a sun trap which was consequently always popular in summer, but unused through much of the year. The owners joint objective was to maximise the use of the terrace, as well as their profits.
- After inspecting the site Loca Shading Designs proposed a flat roof system combined with glazed fixed infills.
- Motorised sash windows and a fully retractable roof allow the area to be enjoyed year-round, no matter the weather conditions.
- An additional 20 covers have been created and the business continues to thrive.
